Vilamoura was a purpose-built resort on the
Algarve, which means that it has much to offer
something to offer every holidaymaker. It offers every form of
sport, as well as much entertainment and amenities. The resort
is built around an amazing marina, which can hold 1000 yachts!
One building that has not been built up is the Roman ruins that
were unearthed when they were building Vlamoura. Along the edge
of Vilamoura is a long sandy beach, with many
hotels, apartments, restaurants and shops lining it. There are
also many leisure facilities, which included a casino.
Away from the beach there are many villas tucked into gorgeous
gardens and in pine trees, with many golf course in between. The
sun nearly always shines within this gorgeous resort, and the
nature, such as the vegetation, has enhanced the resort which
has an incredible landscaped setting.
In both areas there are many different sets of accommodation to
suit any budget, whether you are looking for cheap hotels

Cerro da Vila, Museum and Archaeological
Site
There has been many inhabitants in the Vilamoura area for thousands
of years. There have been Bronze Age graves discovered in the
Casão vineyard and the Romans were the first to settle
here. Visigoth and Moorish colonies also settled on the site,
making it rich in the history of Vilamoura.
Falesia Beach
This is a day on the beach with a difference! Falésia beach
has stunning red coloured cliffs, which are amazing to look at.
The beach also has gorgeous sand and clear blue sea also. Olhos
de Água is also close, which is surrounded by pine-clad
cliffs, and has its own beach.
The Marina
The Marina is massive – with enough space for 100 boats. The waterfront
is a very nice place on which to take a stroll at any time of
day or night. Many boats, including The Condor de Vilamoura, run
excursions beside the coast in the direction of Lagos and beyond.
Other boats offer fishing trips, advertised as Big Game trip.
Many large fish have been caught, and it makes an enjoyable day
out. Both sides of the marina there is also sandy beaches and
small cafes from which you can watch the world go by whilst you
relax with a coffee.
