This once quiet fishing village is only half an hour drive from
Palma, and an even shorter drive to Magaluff. It holds much cultural
history, such as the battle for the island in 1229.
Today however, it is a popular resort in Mallorca,
and visitors come every year to soak up the sun and relax on the
beach. The main beach is named Santa Ponsa, which
has gorgeous sands and cool blue waters. However, if you are looking
for an even more relaxing beach Calo d’en Pellicer is smaller
and more private. It is a lively resort with many restaurants
and bars, as well as a vibrant nightlife. It is a perfect
resort for people of all ages, as it has something to
offer everyone. There are many beaches, restaurants, including
many Scottish and Irish themed pubs, as well as shops. However,
there are also many quieter places in which to relax and enjoy
the stunning scenery. Santa Ponsa is also able
to offer accommodation for everyone, from family holidays to cheap
last minute holidays to Majorca which are enjoyed by
the younger visitors to the island who come for the nightlife.

Fiesta of Rei en Jaume
This massive fiesta takes place in September and runs for 10 days.
It remembers the defeating of the Moors by Jaime I in 1229, and
is celebrated by the whole resort. Its finale takes place on the
last day, with a reconstruction of the battle between the two
sides.
Golf courses
The resort of Santa Ponsa boasts three full golf courses (Santa
Ponsa I, II and III) within easy driving distance from the centre.
Each one is unique, and they are all able to cater for beginners
as well as pros.
