Mijas is said to be one of the most beautiful
places on the Costa del Sol. It is situated on
the mountain side, with stunning views over the area. It has become
popular with holidaymakers as well as those seeking their own
place in the sun. There is a population of 7,500 people, and with
so many British people coming to the resort there is a helpful
department in the town hall for those who don’t speak Spanish!
Once a quiet village, Mijas still retains its
old charm. The cobbled streets and old houses are a beautiful
backdrop to any holiday, and it is evident why so many people
settle in this attractive area. Many artists in particular have
made this stunning landscape their home, as it provides a warm
climate, stunning scenery, and a more peaceful location than other
resorts on the Costa del Sol.
Although there has been a large amount of visitors and new residents
over the past years, Mijas still maintains its
traditional nature, as well as its local way of life.
Because of the artists that have made Mijas their
home there are many craft shops which sell pottery, paintings
and prints. There is also a large range of cafes and restaurants
which offer local cuisine to tempt your taste buds!
As more and more companies offer cheap flights to Costa
del Sol, there has never been a better time to visit.
