Meloneras is the most up-market part of this
area of Gran Canaria. The lighthouse in Faro
is a marker that separates this exclusive location from its neighbour
Maspalomas. Playa del Ingles also lies next to Meloneras, another
high-class resort. Playa del Ingles and Meloneras both have many
types of accommodation from hotels, apartments and villas, most
of which are 4 or 5 star. However, cheap holidays to Meloneras
are still available from companies such as Freedom Direct, offering
everyone the opportunity to enjoy a top quality resort
in the sun.
The main commercial centre also adds to the up-market feel of
Meloneras with many stylish bars, restaurants
and cafes to be found. Shopping is also exclusive, and many brand-names
can be found around the district.
Along side the golden sands of Meloneras, there
are also sandy beaches on Maspalomas. Both are equally beautiful,
and as they are so extensive they hardly ever get crowded! Along
these beaches lie promenades, with shops and cafes to provide
refreshments for the days on the beach.
Close to Meloneras is the Maspalomas Congress Centre,
a modern building that houses business meetings. However, there
are also exhibitions displayed there occasionally, as well as
a regular club night around once a month

and you can sometimes feel like you’re the only people there.
Golf
Brand new gold courses have been built in Meloneras, providing
quality golf. They are set next to the sea, and so provide an
amazing setting in which to enjoy your game. The courses are suitable
for international competitions, with many golfing technology and
superb holes. The clubs however, are also dedicated to the amateurs
as well as the professionals, and are able to offering coaching.
