The resort of Los Cristianos lies nestled in
a bay in the south west area of Tenerife. It is a quiet resort
compared to others along Tenerife’s coastline, but not far away
is the vibrant resort of Playa de las Americas.
Once a fishing village, Los Cristianos has now been built up into
a more modern resort adorned with hotels, shops, restaurants and
bars. However, its traditional charm has still been kept in some
areas, especially within its local harbour, which is still in
use. Surrounding the harbour is a square with many restaurants
on, as well as the golden beach and the promenade that stretches
along to Playa de las Americas.
The old town area begins at the harbour and winds its way down
to the main shopping street, which is a haven of local produce,
gifts and souvenirs.
The best beach on the resort is Playa de las Vistas, which is
man-made and has imported sand from the Sahara put on top of it.
Not far away by taxi and a longer walk is Playa de las Americas,
which is a purpose-built resort with many activities and facilities.
Holidays to Los Cristianos are perfect for those
who want to enjoy a vibrant resort, but also want to relax away
from the activity.

Las Aguilas Park
Otherwise known as Jungle Park, Las Aguilas Park is situated outside
of the resort centre. It has many birds of prey as well as exotic
birds, which perform daily. The actual jungle is also beautiful,
as Tenerife’s climate allows the vegetation to thrive. Within
these jungles you are able to see many animals in their natural
habitat, such as monkeys, tigers, alligators and the rare white
lion.
The Cactus and Animal Park
These botanical gardens specialise in cacti and vegetation from
dry regions. The animal park holds many different species of animal,
from marmosets to terrapins. Beside the park is Amazonia, which
is a rain forest in which birds, such as parrots and hummingbirds,
as well as some reptiles can be seen.
