Amazing deals on cheap holidays in Jamaica
Jamaica is one of the most talked about islands in the
Caribbean, and it’s not hard to see why. Jamaica has
the look of a picture postcard: from the beautiful sunsets, white
sands, lush green mountains and glittering waterfalls. The beauty
of this island has drawn visitors for centuries, at first it was
only the wealthy few who had access to these gorgeous surroundings,
but now cheap flights to Jamaica and all
inclusive resorts in Jamaica mean that this island is
available to everyone. Both the north and western coastlines are
scattered with tourist resorts and all inclusive resorts
in Jamaica. The many Jamaica tourist attractions that
have become famous have also become commercialised to cope with
the large amounts of visitors they get every year.
However, the commercialisation of some of Jamaica has not spoilt
the atmosphere and environment. Jamaica tourist attractions and
the unspoiled areas of Jamaica are equally stunning, and the vibrant
colours and beauty of the area make this the perfect tropical
holiday destination.
The rich history of this large island is worth exploring whilst
on a holiday in Jamaica. The Arawak Indians were the original
native inhabitants, but there is little left of the Indian culture
after Christopher Columbus discovered Jamaica in 1494. After this
Spain ruled Jamaica for 150 years and then the British took over
for the next 300 years before Jamaica gained independence in 1962.
At this point there was a large mixture of cultures and nationalities,
although it still remains African based because of the influence
of the imported slaves, who struggled to keep their tribal traditions
alive while being forced into labouring on the islands plantations.

Jamaica attractions
Kingston
Kingston is the capital of Jamaica, and is home to the birth of
Reggae music before spreading across the world. It is the largest
city south of Miami that speaks predominantly English, and lies
on a large open plain with the world’s largest natural harbour
to the south and the Blue Mountains behind. Those on a holiday
in Jamaica do not normally stay within Kingston itself, but they
make a great day trip of exploring this richly historical city.
Montego
Bay
The north coast is the most popular area for those who want to
stay in all inclusive resorts in Jamaica and
is known as Montego Bay, or ‘MoBay’ by the locals. The bay has
10miles of shoreline with white sands and crystal seas, which
has many coral reefs and blue lagoons. The backdrop to the area
is also stunning, with many green hills coasted in sugar cane,
banana palms and green vegetation.
Negril
Jamaica’s western edge has a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere,
where there is not much to do but lie back and enjoy yourself.
The sunsets here are well-known as are the beach and partying
atmosphere. At the centre of this area is Negril, which is known
as the ‘capital of casual’, and is a sunny resort town that has
managed to retain its sleepy tropical charm that first bought
relaxed sun-seekers here in the 1960s.
