Cambrils is located in the Costa Dorada,
and is a popular resort with families. Just 7miles from the international
airport of Reus, it is easily accessible as flights to
Costa Dorada are now very affordable. Apposed to its
neighbour Salou Cambrils offers a peaceful and authentically Spanish
holiday. Salou offers a vibrant atmosphere of shops, bars and
restaurants as well as an energetic nightlife. Cambrils however,
has charming narrow streets and ancient buildings including the
castle and fortress. It was also once a thriving fishing village,
and the harbour is still in use today and provides a great place
for an evening stroll. Down these small streets are traditional
tapas bars and restaurants, giving visitors a chance to taste
the local cuisine. As well as the cuisine, Cambrils holds street
markets and fiestas, giving any visitor a chance to sample the
culture of Cambrils. Salou holiday makers
can also enjoy similar cultural fiestas, but with a more English
twist tailored for the holiday market.
The beaches in Cambrils are of very good quality,
and have sandy beaches. Cambrils’ beaches provide coves, which
are great to explore, and are perfect for water sports, such as
wind surfing. Salou and La Pineda, close by, are also popular
places to enjoy relaxing beside the clear blue sea.
Although Cambrils provides a quiet area from which you can base
your family holiday, there are also many activities and facilities
near-by to keep the children enetertained! The Universal Theme
Park of Port Aventura is close as hand, with
a wate rpark and its famous roller coaster. La Pineda also has
its own water park, which is perfect for children, both big and
small!
Cambrils also has a vast range of countryside inland, from vineyards
and almond orchards, as well as many pretty and traditional villages.
It is worth exploring this countryside, as it offers a taste of
the culture and traditional values of Spain. However, if you want
to visit the larger cities such as Valencia and Barcelona there
are regular trains from Cambrils. These cities are ideal for shopping
and soaking up the new cosmopolitan culture of the Spanish cities.

Port Aventura
This is the perfect day trip if you have children with you. Port
Aventura is easily reached by bus, and would easily fill two days
of your holiday! It is an entertainment-packed park, with many
rides, roller coasters and water rides. The most famous is the
eight-looped roller coaster that dominates the skyline, Dragon
Khan. It’s not a ride for the faint hearted! However, there are
some less hair-raising rides that can be enjoyed by younger children,
or the less adventurous adults!
Cambrils Museum of History
The "Cambrils Museum of History" has recently been set
up to preserve the cultural heritage of this traditional area.
There are many exhibitions within this brand new museum, and it
is the perfect place to find out about the culture of the area
you are staying in.
