This resorts development began in the 1930s, and has now turned into a lively and busy town with many hotels as well as restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs. It also boasts a stunning promenade which runs along the beautiful beach that joins Cala Millor to other resorts along the coast. Close to Cala Millor is the quieter resort of Cala Bona with a small port that is still in use. Sa Coma is also close, which is a well-known resort that also offers many facilities. It is also only just 40miles form Palma, the capital of the island, and the Son Sant Joan international airport there.
