Belek is a resort which has been re-developed
with tourism in mind. Its large scale has also engulfed its neighbouring
village of Kadriye, a small area that adds to the charm of the
resort. Turkey is able to boast 300 days of sunshine
a year, as well as crystal waters and beautiful beaches.
The resort has become well-known for is 5 star luxurious accommodation,
as well as the good quality golfing that is to be found here.
Many of the hotels have their own beaches, meaning that some holidaymakers
never leave their complex. However, Belek boasts many attractions
and sites, including the Roman ruins of Perge, as well as the
amphitheatre of Aspendos, which still holds occasional concerts.
For those who like more adventure, there are jeep safaris in the
mountains, as well as boat trips and watersports which include
scuba diving and white water rafting.
The town itself is small, and has a centre of shops and cafes.
Kadriya, close by, offers markets and nightlife, and trips to
livelier towns such as Alanya or Antalya is available. Belek is
ideal for those who want to relax and indulge themselves all day,
or who want to enjoy the facilities the surrounding area has to

Aspendos
Theatre
Constructed in the 2nd century by Zenon, this is the most well-preserved
ancient theatres to date. It can easily seat 20,000 people, and
is an amazing insight into the lives of the ancient Turkish people.
Its engineering and architectural design is also significant to
note, and look stunning within the gorgeous landscape. There are
still concerts and recitals held hear during the summer months,
which are well-worth a visit.
Golf
Golf is one of the main attractions in Belek, as it has six excellent
courses. Whilst it was being developed Belek was geared towards
golfers and their needs. It holds one of Turkey’s first-class
golf centres, which has a world-renowned 18hole course, on which
both novice and expert can play a round. All the courses are gathered
together in two specific areas, with just a 10min drive between
the two, and most hotels and complexes are located between the
two sites.
