Morocco resorts and attractions
Marrakech
The souk of Marrakech must be one of the most fascinating shopping
spots in the world, offering visitors a mind-boggling array of
handicrafts, rugs, perfumes and spices, exotic fashions and fabrics.
There are bus tours to take you round the main sights; Place Jemaa
el Fna with acrobats, snake-charmers and musicians, 18th-century
Dar el-Beida Palace and the ruins of the El Badia palace.
Agadir
Agadir was rebuilt by the famous French architect Le Corbusier
in the 1960's after the resort had been destroyed by an earthquake.
Agadir's popularity as a holiday resort is mainly due to its wide
sandy bay and backdrop of snow-capped Atlas Mountains. The tourist
area of the town comprises a variety of international hotels discreetly
blending into the environment of dunes and eucalyptus forests.
Agadir offers luxury, tranquillity and mysticism.
Casablanca
Casablanca is the 2nd largest city in Africa. It's the economic
capital of the country with the most important port, commercial
and industrial complexes. The high spots are the nearby Ain Diab
Beach resort, a short taxi ride from the centre, the port, the
aquarium, the medina and the central shopping area. There's a
small number of night clubs out on the beach at Ain Diab. There
are also excellent international restaurants and a casino.
Fez
Fez is the oldest of Morocco's three imperial cities, founded
in 790 BC. Medina is the main draw for tourists, the bustling
city is one the best preserved Medieval cities in the world. There
is a very french flavour to Fez, especially in the more modern
part of the city called Ville Nouvelle. Visit the traditional
tanneries and take a walk around the city walls. The Karaouine
Mosque contains many holy relics but isn't accessible to non-Muslims.

Relax on a holiday in Morocco
Morocco is virtually connected to Europe, separated only by the
narrow Straits of Gibraltar and this has contributed to a culture
that is a real mix of African, Arabic and European cultures.
The Mediterranen climate means the country is warm all year round,
but the dramatic setting (Atlantic and Mediterranen beaches, the
Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert in the south) means Morocco is
able to offer so much, from beach to ski holidays.
The cities are colourful and busy and are shoppers' paradises.
Just be careful, especially on the side streets, not to get drawn
into buying something you don't really want. The suburban areas
are very modern, as are most of the hotels.
Morocco's wonderful climate and intriguing mixture of ancient
and modern make it a great place to explore on a relaxed, but
stimulating holiday.

The Kingdom of Morocco is the most westerly of the North
African countries known as the Maghreb.
Strategically situated with both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines,
but with a rugged mountainous interior, it stayed independent for
centuries while developing a rich culture blended from Arab, Berber,
European and African influences.
Morocco offers a very high standard of accommodation with many of
the hotels offering luxury, all-inclusive packages. The beaches
have fine golden sand and there are a number of world-class golf
courses across the country.
